This is the 3rd painting in my series about how college is more of a business then a learning institution. Basically I wanted to talk about how colleges use athletes; they make millions and millions of dollars off of them and don’t pay them anything. Sure they get scholarships, but most college athletes don’t graduate or go pro. This painting is supposed to look like a blaxploitation movie poster (I used Superfly as inspiration) because most college athletes are black and they are being exploited. The Notre Dame mascot is supposed to represent the colleges who “pimp” the athletes. (No offense to Notre Dame it’s just that they are the richest college athletic program in the nation.) Basically what im saying is athletes do all the work and get none of the profit.
This painting was done in pastels then glazed over with oils.
